Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Programs
Every day in the United States, an estimated 150,000 kids miss school due to fear or intimidation of bullies. In fact, many believe that fear of bullying may be the leading cause of low self-confidence in children. Worse, statistics suggest that less than 15% of kids actually report acts of bullying. We know that most bullies are insecure and seek self-esteem normally by harassing smaller or weaker children. The BullyProof program has three objectives:
Boost Confidence: Bullies are less likely to target self-confident children. We instill confidence by teaching techniques that will neutralize the attack of a larger opponent.
Increase Awareness: Harassment from bullies can be physical or verbal and delivered at various intensity levels. In each lesson, we focus on teaching your child to recognize and respond to the most common physical and verbal bully behaviors.
Be Ready: Only when your child makes it clear that he/she will not tolerate the harassment, will they free themselves of the bully’s torment. We will prepare them for every common contingency.
It’s better to know jiu-jitsu and not need it, than to need it and not know it. Originally developed for the US Army Rangers, Gracie Combatives is an entry-level beginner jiu-jitsu program dedicated to the 36 most important techniques identified over 80 years of Gracie Family fight history. Classes are conducted in a safe, structured learning environment, so that anyone can learn regardless of age or physical ability. Once a student develops their muscle memory in the execution of these core techniques and graduates from the Gracie Combatives program, they move on to the Master Cycle.
Approximately 90% of people who start jiu-jitsu never make it to blue belt, and 99% of people who make it to blue never make it to black belt. The Master Cycle is an advanced jiu-jitsu program based on chapterized learning and weekly fight simulation training to ensure street readiness. We teach the Master Cycle in an ego-free environment that fosters creativity, collaboration, and camaraderie among all students regardless of age or athletic ability. By emphasizing structured learning and safe training practices, students can train well into their 90s like our eternal Grand Master, Helio Gracie.
